About Get Happy Tips

Hi, I am Beth. Welcome to Get Happy Tips. I began this blog with an idea to share tips and tricks to enjoy life and get happy. As this blog evolved, I decided to share all of the things that make me happy: plant-based recipes, book reviews, parenting tips, fun activity ideas for kids. and other feel-good posts.

Get Happy Tips also features the two children's books I wrote: Elijah the Superhero and Elijah Makes New Friends. These two books are very special to me as the main character is named after my godchild, Elijah. Elijah the Superhero is a heartwarming story that teaches kids that they can be a superhero by making small changes. Elijah Makes New Friends has an overall message of acceptance. Even though someone else might look different on the outside, it's what's on the inside that counts.

A little bit about me:

I grew up in the Midwest with an amazing family. I now live in Florida with my wonderful husband, young son, and three cats. I have a passion for kindness and compassion, which is why I only share plant-based recipes on this blog. I am raising my son vegan so he cultivates a love for all living things.

Almost every activity has a lesson, so I try to look for fun ways to teach the little one whenever possible. In my blog, I share different kid-friendly crafts, outdoor fun, and things to do when you're just hanging around the house. You'll also find reviews of the books that my family loves.

I love creating new easy-to-prepare recipes that are kid-approved and delicious. Creating recipes my family enjoys means I have had a lot of flops, so I only share the ones that are hits with the kiddo and hubby.

In my spare time, I volunteer and serve on a Board of Directors with a farm animal sanctuary in Texas. I also care for feral cats by feeding them and making sure they are spayed and neutered. Lots of nonprofits are doing wonderful things to make the world a better place, so I share the nonprofits on my blog that really doing something great! Please check them out if you're looking for a way to give back to your community.
